Note to the Editor: Please include the following statement from State Representative Greg Beumer (R-Modoc) in your coverage of the Indiana General Assembly’s adjournment.

STATEHOUSE – “This session, we worked diligently to ensure that Indiana remains one of the best places in the country for businesses to locate and expand. This was accomplished through the passage of a two-year budget that is honestly balanced and lives within our means.

“The budget also protects Indiana’s healthy reserves and makes significant investments in our strategic priorities. In addition to making the largest increase to education funding in state history, we also included a $13.5 million appropriation to fund the Safety P.I.N. (Protecting Indiana’s Newborns) grant program to reduce Indiana’s incredibly high infant mortality rate. All of this was accomplished without raising taxes on hardworking Hoosiers and will continue to improve our state for future generations.”
