STATEHOUSE (Nov. 18, 2016) – State Rep. Greg Beumer (R-Modoc) went back to high school to learn more about Hoosier students and educators.

With this being American Education Week, Beumer was invited to Jay County High School to visit with art classes, assist teachers with tasks, help students with projects and join in on lessons.

“Inviting state lawmakers to the classroom to collaborate and learn from educators is an effective way to provide insight on the needs of our students and teachers,” Beumer said. “Hoosier students are our future and deserve the best out of our education system. We can better serve our students through collaboration and support, and this program is a great way to foster teamwork between those who create policy and those who implement those policies.”

American Education Week is Nov. 14-18 and is a national celebration to recognize public education and the work of educators.
