STATEHOUSE (April 8, 2025) – Marion County native Bryan Aung is gaining experience as an intern with State. Rep. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2025 legislative session.

Aung, a Perry Meridian High School graduate, is the son of Andy Aung and Zin Myo. He is currently a senior at Indiana University Indianapolis and majoring in political science and international relations. He will be attending Johns Hopkins SAIS to obtain his master's in international relations.

"This internship has given me the proper groundwork for a career in civil service, as well as a future in grad school," Aung said. "I've been able to make amazing connections as well as experience politics firsthand."

As a legislative intern, Aung corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.

"This program is a great opportunity for students to work in a professional environment, make connections that could lead to future job prospects and learn more about the lawmaking process," Behning said. "Legislative interns like Bryan are important to ensuring session runs smoothly."

At the start of each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of the annual legislative session.
