STATEHOUSE (March 13, 2018) — A Heritage Hills High School graduate is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Stephen Bartels (R-Eckerty) and his fellow members of the House of Representatives during the 2018 session.

Zack Jones, a resident of Santa Claus, is the son of Don and Staci Jones. He is a student at Indiana University working toward a bachelor’s degree in public financial management and has a business certificate from the Kelley School of Business.

As a legislative intern, Jones corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.

“It’s exciting to see students from the community interning at the Statehouse,” Bartels said. “Zack and his peers are able to work in a professional setting and utilize the skills they learned in college. I highly encourage students in our area to consider participating in this opportunity to gain more skills and experience.”

Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
