STATEHOUSE (July 10, 2024) – State Rep. Brad Barrett (R-Richmond) recently received appointments to serve as chair of key committees including Medicaid Oversight Committee, the Health Care Cost Oversight Task Force, and the Interim Study Committee on Public Health, Behavioral Health and Human Services.
Interim committees meet throughout the summer and fall to explore and review policy issues and work together to identify solutions. Legislators will hear testimony from the public, various experts and stakeholders as they work on bill recommendations ahead of the budget session in January.
“As a retired physician, improving public health and access to affordable care has always been a priority, and I look forward to serving on these committees,” Barrett said. “For the next few months, our committees will study crucial issues that impact Hoosiers in our area and across the state. I look forward to working with others and our constituents to prepare for next year's legislative session.”
Barrett will also serve as a member of the Medicaid Advisory Commission and the Medicaid Advisory Commission's Standing Fiscal Subcommittee.
