Rep. Bacon recognizes South Spencer baseball team

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 24, 2016) – State Rep. Ron Bacon (R-Chandler) this week at the Statehouse honored the South Spencer High School boys baseball team for securing their fourth Class 2A championship title.

“It is a true accomplishment to make it all the way to the state championship,” Bacon said. “Winning this title four times highlights the determination of the coaches, dedication of the team members and overall success of the athletic program at South Spencer.”

The South Spencer Rebels beat Lafayette Central Catholic Knights with a score of 8-2 in the state playoff game at Victory Field in Indianapolis. This victory marked their third 2A championship title within the past five years.

The Rebels won their ninth regional title weeks prior with a 10-0 victory against Clarksville. Head Coach Brian Kuester has led the team to all of their state wins.

Bacon and his fellow members in the Indiana General Assembly wish the team and their supporters continued success in all their future endeavors.

Rep. Bacon (R-Chandler) represents portions of Warrick, Pike, and Spencer counties.
