STATEHOUSE (Jan. 4, 2018) — Applications are open for students interested in participating in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2018 legislative session, according to State Rep. Ron Bacon (R-Chandler).
Pages have an opportunity to join Bacon during the legislative session and tour the governor’s office, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the House and Senate chambers.
“This is a good chance for Hoosier students to understand the legislative process and witness it firsthand," Bacon said. “Pages will be able to assist in the House Chamber and help with daily tasks performed by staff. It's a great opportunity, and I strongly encourage those interested to participate in the program.”
To be a page, applicants should be between the ages of 13 and 18. Bacon said student pages receive an excused absence from school and groups can sign up to participate together.
The 2018 legislative session began Wednesday, Jan. 3, and must conclude by March 14. Bacon said page positions fill quickly and encouraged participants to apply early online at www.indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram or by calling 800-382-9841.
State Rep. Ron Bacon (R-Chandler) represents House District 75, which includes portions of Warrick, Pike and Spencer counties.
