STATEHOUSE (Dec. 16, 2016) – State Rep. Ron Bacon (R-Chandler) has been appointed to serve as vice chair of the House Committee on Public Health.

He was also named to the House Committee on Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development and the House Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation.

“Serving on a diverse array of committees allows me to tackle multiple issues facing our community,” Bacon said. “My background as a respiratory therapist and in healthcare will be a great asset in my new role as vice chair of the Public Health Committee. It is my goal to continue to address Indiana’s drug epidemic while also assisting health-care professionals in meeting the health needs of all Hoosiers.”

Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 4, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2017 legislative session.
