Every day in the U.S., 1 out of 4 kids are left unsupervised after school and 43 million don't have access to critical summer learning programs.
The Boys and Girls Club of Indiana works to combat these statistics and enable all young Hoosiers to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible members of society. There are over 100 of these clubs across our state that serve 105,000 youth each year by giving them a safe place to learn and grow.
That’s why I’ve joined my colleagues in the Indiana House of Representatives to launch a donation drive to support this great organization. Each year, the House Republicans and Democrats select and support a philanthropic organization, and collect donations throughout the legislative session.
The Boys & Girls Club works hard to provide a safe haven for young people from distressed communities while offering leadership, educations, career and healthy lifestyle programs.
Our awareness campaign and donation drive kicked off on Organization Day, which marks the first official meeting of the Legislature before session begins in January. House lawmakers and staff will also participate in a volunteer day at a local Boys & Girls Club, and we have already started collecting non-perishable food items, sports equipment, school and art supplies, books and other items.
If you are interested in helping this organization, you can join me in making a donation or volunteering your time at a local club. Visit www.bgca.org to find a location nearest you, and you can find a list of items to donate at www.IndianaHouseRepublicans.com.
I look forward to working with the Indiana Boys and Girls Club and encourage you to join me in giving young Hoosiers the opportunity to create and realize their aspirations. I will continue to be a strong voice for our families and children, and strive to do what is in the best interest of our district and state. Please don’t hesitate to contact my office with any questions or concerns that you may have.
