STATEHOUSE (April 26, 2019) – State Rep. David Abbott (R-Rome City) recently welcomed student pages to the Statehouse.
As House pages, these students toured the governor’s office, the House and Senate chambers and the Indiana Supreme Court. They also helped staff with their daily tasks and met with Abbott to learn more about the legislative process:
“This program is a great way for students from our community to learn about state government,” Abbott said. “Experiencing a day in the Statehouse offers a deeper understanding of how laws are created. I hope to see more young Hoosiers take advantage of this opportunity and become more civically engaged.”
Students between the ages of 13 to 18 who are interested in paging during the 2020 session can learn more at www.indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram. Participants receive an excused absence from school and groups can request to page together.
State Rep. David Abbott (R-Rome City) represents House District 82, which includes
all of Noble County and portions of Allen, Elkhart, LaGrange and Whitley counties.
