STATEHOUSE — Reps. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis) and Ralph M. Foley (R-Martinsville) are encouraged that more jobs will be created in Mooresville, Ind. by Equipment Technologies, Inc. Both legislators were present on Thursday for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the Equipment Technologies Agricultural Center. The company announced its plans to expand and create 56 new jobs by 2015.
“I am pleased that this Hoosier company has chosen to continue growing their business in our state. Their choice to expand in Indiana is a testament to the fact that our pro-business policies and ideologies are attractive to business leaders,” said Rep. Behning. “Getting as many Hoosiers back to work as possible is the number one thing we can do to climb out of this recession. Times are tough, but I am encouraged that companies, such as Equipment Technologies, are creating jobs here in Indiana.”
Headquartered in Mooresville, Ind., Equipment Technologies is the largest independently owned manufacturer of agriculture, self-propelled sprayers in North America. The Apache Sprayer Division is expanding its operation by opening the Equipment Technologies Agricultural Center.
“We’ve seen this with major companies across the state,” said Rep. Foley. “Companies with a footprint in Indiana are jumping in with both feet to grow and expand their operations here. As one of the most taxpayer-friendly states in the nation, Indiana is open for business.”
Equipment Technologies employs 97 Indiana residents, 52 living in Morgan County. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation provided $550,000 in performance-based tax credits and $25,000 in training grants based on Equipment Technologies’ job creation strategy. The Mooresville Town Council provided infrastructure assistance abatement to property tax per the request of the Morgan County Economic Development Corporation.
“Equipment Technologies has seen a growing trend of growers searching for knowledge and thought leadership when it comes to precision farming and application in general. The ET Ag Center is built to share our application knowledge and train the next generation of precision growers,” said Equipment Technologies CEO Matt Hays.
The positions available at Equipment Technologies will be filled by 2015. They will be primarily inside sales and warehouse positions. Those interested in applying can visit our website http://www.etsprayers.com/AboutUs/Careers.aspx.
