Rep. Behning to Chair Education Committee
STATEHOUSE— House Republican Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee members for the Indiana House Republican caucus with Rep. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis) being appointed as Chairman of the Education Committee again. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
“I am honored to be selected as chairman of the Education committee at such a crucial time for Indiana’s students. I am eager to continue the work that we have done over the past few years, creating new and innovative ways to give our children the best shot at a bright future” said Rep. Behning.
Rep. Behning will also serve as a member of the Public Health and Utilities and Energy committees.
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“The legislature will be faced with many issues this session that deserve thoughtful discussion and examination. I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve on committees that present many diverse topics with the potential to positively impact Hoosiers,” said Rep. Behning.
Rep. Behning (R-Indianapolis) represents portions of Marion and Hendricks counties. Rep. Behning is the Chairman of the Education Committee, and also serves on the Public Health and Utilities and Energy committees.
