"I was thrilled to see all those from the public who attended the rally in support of educational reform this afternoon," said Rep. Behning. "I was honored to be recognized with an award and it was a great feeling to see all those who showed their support." There were several speakers throughout the rally. Some of these included teachers, legislators and even Michelle Rhee, former chancellor of the District of Columbia Public Schools of Washington, D.C. Also honored with Golden Apple Awards were House Speaker Bosma (R-Indianapolis) and Sen. Kruse (R- Auburn). "Today was all about celebrating the work we are doing for students and families and letting them know we are working to provide them with more quality choices," said Rep. Behning. "The combination of this rally and the passage of House bill 1003, makes today a great day for education reform."
