Rep. Behning encouraged by more jobs coming to Mooresville
STATEHOUSE - Rep. Bob Behning (R- Indianapolis) is encouraged that more jobs will be created in Mooresville, Indiana. An estimated 60 new jobs will be created by 2015 at Equipment Technologies, a manufacturer of agricultural spraying equipment.
"I am pleased that this native Indiana Company has chosen to stay and to expand in our state. Their choice to grow in Indiana is testament to the fact that our pro-business attitude is effective and getting more Hoosiers working," said Rep. Behning.
Equipment Technologies plans to invest almost $6.4 million to build a 50,000 square-foot training facility and warehouse close to their existing 108,000 square-foot Morgan County manufacturing facility and headquarters. They are the largest independently-owned manufacturer of self-propelled sprayers in North America
The company was founded in 1997 in Indiana and distributes its name-plated Apache sprayers to farm equipment retailers throughout North America, Australia and Eastern Europe. Currently, the company employs more than 50 individuals in Mooresville and expects to begin hiring in the near future for administration, sales, manufacturing and warehouse positions.
Equipment Technologies was offered up to $550,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $25,000 in training grants by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation which was based on the company's job creation plans.
They were also provided infrastructure assistance and property tax abatement by the town of Mooresville, which was requested by the Morgan County Economic Development Corporation.
"Getting as many Hoosiers back to work as possible is the number one thing we can do to climb out of this recession. Times are tough, but I am encouraged that companies, such as Equipment Technologies, are creating jobs here in Indiana," said Rep. Behning. "Throughout my tenure as a Representative, I will continue support legislation that bolsters economic development."
