STATEHOUSE— House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus.  State Representative Phyllis Pond (R-New Haven) was appointed to serve as the Chairman of the Health and Medicaid Subcommittee of Ways and Means.

“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles,” said Speaker Bosma.
Rep. Pond will also serve as a member of the Judiciary Committee.

“I’m honored to continue serving in this leadership position, and I’m eager to take on the responsibilities associated with my role and to start serving Hoosiers in this capacity,” said Rep. Pond.

Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
