Rep. Cox selected to serve on three important committees
STATEHOUSE — House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) has announced the committee assignments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. State Rep. Casey Cox (R-Fort Wayne) has been appointed to serve on three committees: Judiciary, Elections and Veterans Affairs.
“I feel honored to be chosen to serve on three important committees,” said Rep. Cox. “With my professional background as lawyer, I believe I can be a great asset to the Judiciary Committee. I am also looking forward to the opportunity to help promote honest and accountable elections, as well as providing the best quality of life for Hoosier veterans.”
Committee members are selected every two years by the majority party after each election year. However, with the passing of Rep. Pond and the resignation of Rep. Davis, certain committee vacancies had to be filled this year. These standing committees play crucial role in the legislative process. Committees often receive public testimony and discuss specific details of proposed legislation before it is brought to the House floor.
“I anticipate learning from other legislators while also adding my own unique perspective during policy discussions. This upcoming session, I intend to support policies that incentivize job creation, create new business opportunities in our state and strengthen educational opportunities.”
