“I was proud to support the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence which is leading the charge to end these violence acts in our state,” said Rep. Cox. “Although October was Domestic Violence Awareness Month, our support for victims and organizations like the ICADC needs to be year-round. I hope that our contributions helped out and improved the lives of those affected by these horrible acts.” Founded in 1980, the ICADV is a nonprofit organization that seeks to prevent and eliminate domestic violence by increasing public awareness, training advocates, providing legal assistance and helping people form healthy relationships. ICADV officials were present at the Statehouse to accept the donations and thank everyone who participated in the drive. “This legislative session, House Republicans have made improving public safety a top priority,” said Rep. Cox. “A major part of improving public safety is protecting the most vulnerable members of our society. The fight to end domestic violence is critical in that effort.” For more information on the ICADV, visit www.icadvinc.org. -30-
