STATEHOUSE - Bids are being placed and accepted for work on local roads in Cass and Carroll counties, state Rep. Phyllis Pond (R-New Haven) said today. The work is for asphalt resurfacing a section of U.S. Interstate 69.
"This federal stimulus money is being put to good use in our county," said Rep. Pond. "Repaving I-69 will put construction companies to work, employee Hoosiers and improve our interstate so we can travel safer."
U.S. Interstate 69 will be resurfaced with asphalt from its intersection with State Road 1 to about 10 miles north on I-69. This project is scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2009.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the request for bids is in anticipation of funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
