"Republicans and Democrats came to a consensus on some big issues this week," said Rep. Lehman. "Employers and job seekers will benefit from the delay/repeal of one of the largest business tax increases ever seen in Indiana, and teachers and students will benefit from the funding flexibility we are granting to schools." House Bill 1367, which allows schools to transfer money between various funds under certain conditions, passed early Saturday morning. Senate Bill 23, which delays/repeals the unemployment insurance premium increase, passed as well. These two bills were the last major issues the House Republicans had hoped to resolve this year. -30- |
