STATEHOUSE — On Organization Day, State Rep. Matt Lehman (R-Berne) was joined by fellow legislators, staff and other state office holders in donating gift cards, linens and other items to the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) at the Statehouse.

“I am honored to support the ICADV and their mission to prevent and eliminate domestic violence,” said Rep. Lehman. “I am pleased to see legislators and staff, from both sides of the aisle, contribute to this charity drive.”

The ICADV, founded in 1980, is a statewide coalition of domestic violence programs, support agencies and concerned individuals. They provide technical assistance, resources, information and training to those who serve victims of domestic violence. Their goal is to eliminate domestic violence through the implementation of prevention programs and public awareness.

“It is disheartening to know that one in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime,” said Rep. Lehman. “We will take a hard look at what we can do to provide additional resources to these victims.”

Legislators and staff brought in gift cards, bedding, towels, kids’ art supplies, cleaning supplies and other items for the ICADV. Representatives from the organization were present to accept the donations at the Statehouse.
