STATEHOUSE – State Rep. Suzanne Crouch (R-Evansville) welcomed several members of the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association (ISA) from her district to the Statehouse last week when a resolution authored by State Rep. Kevin Mahan (R-Hartford City) invited them to the Indiana House of Representatives. Several dozen county sheriffs from across the state gathered on the House floor in honor of the impact the ISA has had on law enforcement.

“It was an honor to have law enforcement from my counties of Vanderburgh and Warrick counties visit the Statehouse,” said Rep. Crouch. “I’m pleased my colleagues and I in the House were able to recognize these members of ISA for the great work they do for all Hoosiers.”

The ISA was founded 82 years ago. In 1977, it became a not-for-profit organization focusing on the need to educate and train sheriff department personnel.  Among their many accomplishments, the ISA has been instrumental in coordinating the Indiana Sheriffs’ Sex Offender Registry.  Through their website, the ISA provides law enforcement officials and citizens with detailed information on sex offenders when they move into a new county.
