“Indiana has benefited and will continue to benefit greatly from the leadership of Gov. Mitch Daniels. For many years, Hoosiers in southwest Indiana, especially business owners, asked for a better route to Indianapolis. Through the governor’s Major Moves program, which I helped author in the House, an extension of I-69 is being built and should open at the end of this year. The building of this interstate extension has created jobs for many Hoosiers and will continue to boost the economy in southwest Indiana. “One of Gov. Daniels’ greatest accomplishments has been the creation of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC). IEDC has helped to create more than 140,000 jobs in Indiana since Jan. 2005. Those businesses have invested $27.9 billion, and it’s one of my top priorities to continue to find ways to bring jobs to Indiana so Hoosiers can get back to work.”
