STATEHOUSE - Rep. Susan Crouch (R-Evansville) is seeking the public's input to aid in the discussions for the House Select Committee on Government Reduction. The committee has decided to extend its discussion from session into the interim, working on issues relating to reducing and eliminating unnecessary and costly functions of government.

Rep. Crouch has created an online suggestion box on her website to reach out to those who are interested in sending ideas and aiding in the committee's discussions.

"I know many Hoosiers have invaluable input on the issue of government practices that are no longer necessary," said Rep. Crouch. "This online suggestion box is another way the people of Indiana can be proactive in the discussions taking place among the General Assembly."

Those interested in supplying their ideas for discussion to the House Select Committee on Government Reduction can visit the suggestion box: http://www.IN.gov/surveytool/public/survey.php?name=District_78_Gov_Reduction.

The House committee was created to reduce and eliminate practices in government that have become redundant or antiquated.

Speaker Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis) created the committee this past session, and also appointed a minority party member as chairman to further promote bipartisan discussion.

"We want to work together on these issues facing discussion in the committee," said Rep. Crouch. "Part of working together is listening to those ideas and suggestions of the public. I encourage everyone to take part in using the suggestion box and being part of the conversation."
