STATEHOUSE – State Representative Suzanne Crouch (R-Evansville) authored a resolution today honoring the Reitz Memorial High School Lady Tigers soccer team on their victory in the Class 2A state championship.

Head coach Angie Lensing, led the Lady Tigers to a 21-3 record en route to their state title. The team was anchored by two senior co-captains, Gracie Lachowecki and Maddie Riedford. Both girls were named to the First Team All State and both will play at the collegiate level next season.

“This team exemplifies what it means to be a student athlete. They are successful on the field and in the classroom,” said Rep. Crouch. “These young ladies are active in the community, and I know that the lessons they have learned by taking part in organized athletics will serve them well in the years to come.”

Along with winning the state title, the Lady Tigers also won the city and conference championships. Over the course of the season, they scored 89 goals and only gave up 16. The team also posted 13 shutouts. This year’s state title is the third women’s soccer title in school history.

Rep. Crouch’s resolution passed the House with a unanimous voice vote.
