STATEHOUSE – At the Statehouse, State Representative Holli Sullivan (R-Evansville) was sworn into office on Organization Day, which marks the first official meeting of the 119th General Assembly. Rep. Sullivan was elected to represent House District 78 which includes portions of Vanderburgh and Warrick counties.

“I am honored to represent our district and serve southwest Indiana at the Statehouse,” said Rep. Sullivan. “I look forward to addressing many important issues during the upcoming session that will help move our community and state forward.”

As a part of Organization Day, Rep. Sullivan joined House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis), legislators, staff and other office holders in donating linens, gift cards and various supplies to the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV).

“Domestic violence affects so many people throughout our state,” said Laura Berry, Executive Director of ICADV. “We are happy to work with the House legislators on this issue and are proud to be the recipient of the Speaker’s charity initiative in 2015 which will support local domestic violence programs.”

ICADV is a statewide coalition that provides technical assistance, resources, information and training to domestic violence awareness programs, support agencies and concerned individuals. ICADV focuses on prevention of domestic abuse, legislative advocacy, public awareness, advocate training and legal assistance.

“It was a pleasure to give back and support this organization,” said Rep. Sullivan. “By shedding light on this issue, we are taking an essential step towards ending domestic violence, which is something we plan on working towards during the legislative session.”

Rep. Sullivan’s donations will be provided to southwest Indiana shelters. For more information on the ICADV, visit www.icadvinc.org.
