Rep. Sullivan announces internship opportunity

STATEHOUSE – State Representative Holli Sullivan (R–Evansville) encourages college students and recent graduates to apply for the 2015 Legislative Session Internship with the Indiana House of Representatives.

“I am excited to announce that students can now apply for the 2015 Indiana House of Representatives Internship,” said Rep. Sullivan. “As a business professional and mother of three, I understand how important it is for students to be properly prepared for the workforce. Our interns have the opportunity to gain valuable experience that will set them up for success later in life."

This paid internship gives college students and recent graduates the opportunity to be a part of Indiana’s legislative process by working directly with state representatives to issue press releases, handle constituent work, conduct research for state policy or even work in the IT department.

The House Republican Intern Program takes place at the Indiana Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis. The program is open to college students (sophomores and up), recent graduates and graduate students. It is recommended for those who would like to gain professional experience as well as learn more about the legislative process.

“I had the pleasure of working very closely with my interns this past session at the statehouse,” said Rep. Sullivan. “It was great to see their passion for state government and to watch them apply their knowledge in a professional setting.”

Those interested in the program may consider the Member Services, Communications, Technology or Policy and Fiscal internships.

For more information about the program like a detailed description of the internships, a schedule of recruitment events at campuses across Indiana or to find the online application, visit www.in.gov/legislative/house_republicans/intern.html. Applications must be submitted by Oct. 31, 2014. Questions about the program can be directed to:
