End Date: 1/14/2010

STATEHOUSE- Scott Elementary and John H. Castle Elementary Schools were awarded as Indiana's Four Star Schools, which is the state's highest honor. The award was given out to 188 schools statewide for the 2008-2009 school year.

The Four Star School award is judged on three areas of criteria: attendance rates, student achievement and performance on the I-STEP+. The schools honored represent the top 25 percent of schools in the state.

"Educating our youth is an extremely important responsibility, one that should be highly praised when accomplishments are achieved," Rep. Suzanne Crouch (R-Evansville) said.

"I am proud that two schools in my district have been recognized for excellence. Congratulations to Scott & Castle."
