Job Creation Incentive Bill signed into law STATEHOUSE - Rep. Wendy McNamara (R- Mount Vernon) coauthored House Enrolled Act 1004 this legislative session. The bill was one of four key economic development bills signed by the Governor at the Statehouse on Thursday where many Republican members were present. "In this economy, it is vital to create the best climate for job growth as possible. This bill will make Indiana more desirable to businesses, thus creating more jobs in our state," said Rep. McNamara. House Enrolled Act 1004 enhances the Venture Capital Investment Tax Credit to improve access to capital for fast growing Indiana companies. Additionally, it will make Indiana more desirable to out-of-state businesses by lowering our corporate tax rate, thus creating more economic development in our state. Another key aspect of the bill increases government transparency and provides the framework for Indiana to move toward being one of the most transparent states from top to bottom, from state government all the way down to the local level by creating a website where all state expenditures will be posted. "I am pleased to see the Governor sign onto this bill and believe this bill was needed for Hoosiers," said Rep. McNamara. |
