Rep. Ellspermann recognizes Holiday World owners
STATEHOUSE - On Wednesday, State Rep. Sue Ellspermann (R-Ferdinand) recognized Dan and Pat Koch, owners and operators of Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN, and John Chittester, chairman of the Holiday World board. They were recognized for their accomplishments and creating one of the best tourism and education institutions in Indiana. The Koch's and Chittester also met with Speaker of the House Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis), Senate President Pro Tempore David Long (R-Fort Wayne), Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman, and Governor Mitch Daniels.
"Holiday World is a unique family owned business that provides families and people of all ages unparalleled fun," said Rep. Ellspermann. "The park has positively affected the state as they've hired tens of thousands of Hoosiers over the years. Indiana is lucky to claim Holiday World and the Koch family as its own."
When it opened in August of 1946, Holiday World (originally named Santa Claus Land) was one of the first themed amusement parks in the world. Since then, the park has won many awards for its ride and operating practices, and has provided a great place for entertainment for Hoosiers across the state.
