STATEHOUSE- State Rep. Sue Ellspermann (R-Ferdinand) will be hosting the first ever Southern Indiana Rural Communities Summit: Plugging the Brain Drain. The event will be held on Thursday, September 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST at the Huntingburg Event Center. Rep. Ellspermann has invited state and local government officials, local school corporation superintendents, faculty and staff from local universities, local chambers of commerce, local business leaders and youth groups to attend the event. Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman will also be attending the summit as a special guest. The summit is being held to help Southern Indiana communities better understand the effects of 'brain drain' on rural Indiana communities, and to collaborate with local leaders and elected officials to develop solutions for Southern Indiana concerning the issue.
