Over the next two months I will be hosting, with the help of others, community meetings across House District 74. We currently have meetings scheduled in Santa Claus on September 27 at Santa's Lodge and in Dale on October 11 at Lincoln Heritage Library. Both meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. local time.
Additional meetings are being scheduled for Tell City, Rockport, Boonville and southern Dubois County. You can visit my website for dates as they are confirmed at www.in.gov/h74.
What is a Community Connection? My initial thoughts are that, as your state elected official, I should provide an update on Statehouse, legislative and regional strategic issues and opportunities. This will be followed by a Q&A session. The second half of the session will focus on your concerns and suggestions for moving forward. My goal is to keep these to about an hour...maybe 90 minutes. Most importantly, as we approach the upcoming 2012 legislative session in January, these sessions will help calibrate me to your perspectives.
Thank you for your patience with me as a freshman legislator as I learn how to best serve you and our region. It is always my hope to be as available as possible for meetings and events; however my schedule sometimes limits my attendance at every event. The Community Connections are an additional attempt to ensure that I am accessible to you and "in the loop".
Finally, if you want to help arrange an additional meeting in your community, please contact my legislative assistant, Ryan Heater, at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will do our best to accomplish as many Community Connections as we can before the end of the year.
Enjoy the beautiful fall weekends unfolding. And, have a wonderful week.
