Davisson reacts to Adjournment of 2012 Session STATEHOUSE – “I am pleased to see all that has been accomplished during the 2012 legislative session during the short session. In the past few months, the General Assembly has tackled a number of important issues that will work towards creating a brighter future for Hoosiers across the state. “We became the 23rd state in the nation to pass a Right to Work law. I believe this will help spur job creation since we are the only state in the Midwest to have such a law. Additionally, I co-authored legislation that enhances penalties for dealing in or possessing a synthetic drug known as spice, K2, and bath salts. Use of synthetic drugs continues to grow, and it is important that we stay ahead of this problem by giving the Board of Pharmacy the ability to monitor and declare any new compounds that come into the market as a synthetic drug so that they are not available where our children can purchase them. “We have also garnered a great deal of support in the aftermath of the tornadoes that destroyed much of my district. I appreciate all of the help that has been given to my district as we begin the slow and tiresome process of rebuilding our communities. I am especially grateful to those who have reached out to help those Hoosiers that were affected by the storms, and I am honored to be of assistance to my constituents during their time of need.” -30- |
