Rep. Davisson's Bill for Young Entrepreneurs Passes the House

STATEHOUSE- Rep. Davisson(R-Salem) co-authored legislation that proposes that the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) develop a young entrepreneurs program which will support the business proposals of students enrolled in state educational institutions. House Bill 1251passed through the House with a vote of 94 to 0 and will now move to the Senate for consideration.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that the program must also include at least one auction a year where local communities will bid for the business idea to be located in their community. A yearly impact report is required for the programs as well. 

"This will provide new opportunities for all communities, including rural communities, to compete for new businesses and jobs on a level playing field," said Rep. Davisson.

Rep. Davisson serves District 73, which includes Crawford, Dubois, Perry, Washington, Harrison, Jackson, Clark, and Scott counties. For the 2011 legislative session, Rep. Davisson is the vice-chairman of the Public Health Committee, and a member of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee, and the Family, Children, and Human Affairs Committee.
