STATEHOUSE – It was announced today by the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) that Perry Central Community School Corporation is being awarded an Excellence in Performance Award grant of $80,042. State Rep. Steve Davisson (R-Salem) extends his congratulations to the teachers and schools in his district that were honored on Thursday.
“It is very exciting for our teachers to see their hard work pay off in the form of such a great honor,” said Rep. Davisson. “Every penny of this grant is well-deserved by the teachers and administrators of Perry Central Community School Corporation, and I am proud to represent them for the state of Indiana.”
The 2011 state budget established the Excellence in Performance Awards for Teachers grant program. The grant appropriated $6 million to be allocated to school corporations and charter schools to make cash awards to teachers rated as effective or highly effective through a performance evaluation system that meets IDOE and state law requirements.

“Our teachers have such a wonderful impact on the lives of our students, inside and outside of the classroom,” said Rep. Davisson. “I look forward to seeing more educators benefit from this wonderful grant program in the years to come.”
Rep. Davisson represents parts of Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Harrison, Jackson, Perry, Scott and Washington Counties.
