Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. State Representative Steve Davisson (R-Salem) was appointed to two committees including one vice chairmanship.
Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
Rep. Davisson was appointed to serve on the following committees: Public Health (Vice Chairman) and Ways and Means.
“I am eager to begin my role on the Ways and Means Committee,” said Rep. Davisson, “It is the committee that maintains our state’s fiscal responsibility and I look forward to continuing my role as Vice Chairman of the Public Health Committee. Committees are the backbone of the legislative process. Testimony is heard from constituents and experts during committee meetings, which help legislators, craft the best policies for Hoosiers.”
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
