The Mayfield Farm, located in Lanesville, began in 1906. They received the centennial award for 100 years of ownership. The Everett and Annette Albin Farm received the sesquicentennial award for 150 years of ownership. The farm began in 1835 and is located in Corydon. The Hoosier Homestead Award Program began in 1976 to acknowledge the contributions these families have made to Indiana agriculture. Over 5,000 farms have received the award in the past 30 years. “The dedication of these families deserves special recognition,” said Rep. Rhonda Rhoads (R-Corydon). “Small businesses, like these farms, are essential to our Hoosier economy.” Two award ceremonies are held each year – one at the Statehouse in February and one at the State Fair in August.
