STAETHOUSE - Today, we find ourselves in a place of solemn commemoration. Veterans Day is about remembering and honoring anyone who has answered freedom's call to defend our great republic. Without the sacrifice of countless heroes, America could not continue to be the city on a hill and the last bastion of freedom.
Yesterday, November 10th, was the 238th birthday of the Marine Corps. On behalf of all current and "dormant" Marines, I wanted to wish a special Happy Birthday to the Corps.
Today, November 11th, marks the anniversary of the cease-fire that ended hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany during the First World War. Over the course of history, we continue to witness our veterans valiantly defending our nation against those that threaten it.
Although we can never fully repay our veterans for the sacrifices they made and continue to make, we can show your appreciation by thanking the heroes that gave us the freedoms we enjoy. God Bless America! Semper Fi!
