STATEHOUSE - The Indiana Chamber of Commerce's annual Legislative Vote Analysis recognized Rep. Randy Frye's (R-Greensburg) strong pro-jobs and pro-economy voting record for the 2011 session. Rep. Frye scored a 94 percent for supporting legislation that will help create Hoosier jobs and strengthen our economy. "Since my first day at the Statehouse, my top priority has been to get Hoosiers back to work, and the Republican-controlled Legislature has responded by enacting more legislation to aid in Indiana's recovery," said Rep. Frye. "Indiana's pro-business environment has been nationally recognized because of the tools put in place by the legislative body." The Chamber's Vote Analysis is produced after every legislative session. The legislator's scores are determined by bills and select amendments' impact on the state's economy. "We dedicated a large portion of our time to carefully crafting legislation that will lay the foundation for job creation for years to come," said House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis). Some major pieces of legislation included in the analysis that the Indiana Chamber highlighted was: House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1004, which increases access to start-up capital for Indiana businesses in addition to lowering the corporate income tax rate; HEA 1006, which promotes economic development locally and regionally; and HEA 1007, which allows enhanced abatement schedules and hiring incentives to encourage local job growth. "My hope in moving forward is that more businesses will come to Indiana and hire Hoosiers because of the pro-business legislation that we put in place this session," said Rep. Frye.
