Paula Shafer recognized with Hoosier Hospitality Award
STATEHOUSE – Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) attended the 2012 Hoosier Hospitality Awards ceremony hosted by Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman where Paula Shafer, a Greensburg-native, was recognized today. She and 24 other recipients were honored for their dedication to Indiana’s tourism industry. “I enjoyed attending the ceremony today. It can’t be overstated enough how important all of these distinguished individuals are to Indiana’s tourism industry,” said Rep. Frye. “They make a lasting impression on tourists by making them feel welcomed and valued in our great state. Their hospitality keeps people coming back again and again – perhaps one day they will live here and move their business here.” The Hoosier Hospitality Awards ceremony is part of Visit Indiana Week and National Travel and Tourism Week and recognizes those who go out of their way to provide excellent customer service to visitors. Paula Shafer has been the manager of the Iron Skillet in Greensburg, Ind. for the last 20 years. Additionally, this is the second time an employee has been awarded the Hoosier Hospitality Award from the Iron Skillet. Barbara Mauer won the award in 2010. -30-
