STATEHOUSE - In a ceremony this Sunday, Jan. 13, former Governor Edgar Whitcomb will be honored with the dedication of his bust to be displayed at the Indiana Statehouse. Governor-elect Mike Pence and Lieutenant Governor-elect Sue Ellspermann will be speaking at the event.
State Representative Eric Koch (R-Bedford) invites all residents of his district and surrounding areas to participate in the ceremony. Rep. Koch serves on the Friends of Ed Whitcomb Committee that organized the event. The committee’s purpose is to honor former Governor Whitcomb for his accomplishments as governor and WW II veteran by commissioning the bust in the Statehouse and a life-sized monument on the grounds of the Jennings Count Courthouse. When: Sunday, Jan. 13 – Doors open at 4:30 p.m., ceremony begins at 5 p.m.
Parking will be available for the public in the North Parking Lot by the Statehouse. Guests can access the building via the West doors where they will then be directed further by the tourism office.
