Rep. Koch to Chair Redistricting Hearings
STATEHOUSE- Members of the House and Senate Election Committees will be holding public hearings on redistricting in eight separate locations throughout the State this weekend. The hearings are designed to provide the opportunity for public input regarding new legislative district boundaries for the 100 Indiana House districts, the 50 Indiana Senate districts and the nine Congressional districts.
For Northern Indiana, the hearing schedule is as follows:

Under the Indiana Constitution, the General Assembly elected during the year in which a federal decennial census is taken shall fix by law the number of Senators and Representatives and apportion them among districts according to the number of inhabitants in each district, as determined by the census.
State Representative Eric Koch (R-Bedford), chairman of the House Elections & Apportionment Committee, will chair the Southern Indiana hearings.
