Rep. Koch Named to National Nuclear Energy Workgroup
STATEHOUSE- State Rep. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) has been appointed to the National Conference of State Legislatures Nuclear Legislative Workgroup by Speaker of the House Brian Bosma.
The Workgroup, which is supported by funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, is made up of state legislators from select states that play a role in the cleaning up of the nation's nuclear sites, host nuclear facilities, or are affected by the transportation of nuclear materials.
The Workgroup provides the opportunity to hear federal updates from Department of Energy officials, discuss safe practices and policy options, and share information with legislative colleagues from other states. Workgroup meetings will also include visits to nuclear reactors and cleanup sites around the country.
Rep. Koch serves as a member of the House Utilities and Energy Committee.
Rep. Koch serves District 65, which includes parts of Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, and Lawrence counties. Rep. Koch serves as the Chairman of the Elections & Apportionment Committee, and as a member of the Select Committee on Government Reduction, Statutory Committee on Ethics, and the Utilities & Energy Committee. Rep. Koch also serves as Assistant Republican Caucus Chairman.
