[r63] Surveys, Session and Service

December is a truly festive time as we gather together with our loved ones to shop for the holidays, look at the twinkling lights and count down the days until Christmas.  It is one of my favorite times of year as we enjoy family, fellowship and fun. Following the New Year, on January 7, the General Assembly will begin its work crafting a two-year, balanced budget for our state in addition to addressing critical issues that affect Hoosiers.

I am focused on building upon our state’s successes and addressing areas that need improvement. By focusing on jobs, education and a balanced budget, I believe that Indiana will continue to be a leader in the Midwest.

By having the right economic policies in place and a nationally renowned education system established, Indiana will continue to move forward providing a better livelihood for Hoosiers. Promoting early childhood education and expanding education opportunities for Hoosier families are important to ensuring every child is off to the best start for future success. Skills in the area of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) will also ensure that students are able to thrive in a more complex global marketplace.

Indiana is a state where families have the opportunity to realize their American Dream. I want to ensure that future generations of Hoosiers are afforded the same opportunities as previous generations and that Indiana continues to be a place of opportunity and prosperity. By focusing on education, this is possible.  With an education, anything is possible.

Every year I mail a survey to the district to get a better idea of how you feel about specific issues. I take every response seriously as I gain a better understanding of the importance of various issues that are likely to come before the General Assembly this session.

As you receive the survey nestled amongst your holiday greeting cards, please take a moment to fill it out and mail it back to me. By providing your feedback, I will be able to better serve you and our district. Please look for your copy in the mail, and I will look forward to hearing your thoughts!
