STATEHOUSE — “I am pleased that House Bill (HB) 1001, the state’s biennial budget, passed the House today. As the only freshman legislator on the Ways and Means Committee, I was privileged to join my fellow committee members in crafting an honestly balanced budget that continues to live within our state’s means and maintain healthy reserves.
“The House Republicans’ commitment to fiscal integrity has allowed us to make the largest investment in K-12 education in our state’s history, accounting for more than half of the entire budget and nearly a 5 percent increase from the previous biennium. As HB 1001 continues through the legislative process, I look forward to working with our colleagues in the Senate to build upon our state’s strong fiscal foundation.”
Rep. Braun (R-Jasper) represents portions of Daviess, Dubois, Pike and Martin Counties. He serves on the Roads and Transportation Committee and Ways and Means Committee.
