STATEHOUSE- A Franklin company announced today its plans to add up to 46 new jobs by the end of 2010, Rep. Milo Smith (R-Columbus) said. Rexam plans to expand operations to its current manufacturing of plastic packaging for health care, closures and personal care industries, along with aluminum beverage cans.
Rexam currently employs over 100 Franklin area residents. The London-based company employs more than 22,000 worldwide.
Rexam is one of the leading companies in aluminum can manufacturing at 55 billion cans per year. The company also manufactures a variety of products from lip stick cases to prescription pill bottles.
"This is a very exciting announcement in the effort to get unemployed Hoosiers back to work by adding 46 new jobs by the end of this year," Rep. Smith said. "Not only is Rexam a thriving company in Franklin, but also worldwide. I commend them for their hard work and for continued efforts to grow their company."
