"I am very excited to meet all the pages and spend the day speaking with them and hearing what they think about how the Statehouse operates, said Rep. Smith.
The session that is coming up will begin January 5 and run thru April 29. A student, who participates in the Page Program, will observe a session from the floor and assist Rep. Smith with his daily activities. They will also tour the Statehouse which includes the Governor's Office, the Supreme Court, the House Chamber and the Senate Chamber.
"The Page Program is a excellent learning experience for all students and I think it provides a great glimpse into how a bill become a law," states Rep. Smith.
Students that choose to participate will have an excused day of absence from their school and are responsible for finding their own transportation both to and from the Statehouse.
Availability fills up fast so interested students are encouraged to make an appointment as quickly as possible.
