[r58] Rep. Burton Speaks on Completion of 2012 Legislative Session (3/10/2012)

Saturday, March 10, 2012

Start Date: 3/10/2012
End Date: 3/10/2012

STATEHOUSE—“Although session started a little rough with passionate debates and Democrat walkouts, we were able to end on a positive note. We did so by taking a stand for the rights of Hoosiers. We fought for their right to work, live and raise a family in a state that continues to flourish in the right direction.

“I was more than pleased to have had the opportunity to personally work on legislation to rid communities of abandoned properties that have become eyesores for some areas and end up lowering the surrounding property values. In addition, I was fortunate to get passed legislation that will provide our state public employees their 13th check to help cope with cost of living inflation and unforeseen financial stress.

‘Additionally, in an effort to directly enhance Johnson County, I provided legislation adding a fourth judge to our Johnson County Superior Court – something our community has been in need of for some time now. I was very privileged to get so many pieces of legislation through in this short session.”
