STATEHOUSE - Rep. Woody Burton (R-Greenwood) served as guest speaker at the Legislative Affairs Forum today, hosted by the Indiana Credit Union League. "I was honored that the League invited me to speak at their annual Legislative Affairs Forum this morning," said Rep. Burton. "As Ranking Minority Member of the Financial Institutions Committee, I was pleased that I was able to discuss the committee's bi-partisan efforts to pass legislation that will bring safer lending practices and consumer protection to Indiana." "I also felt fortunate to have the opportunity to discuss the highly-debated issue concerning the continuing foreclosure crisis facing this country." "The Financial Institutions Committee, including myself, has continued our efforts to ensure we have good legislation for those seeking out a mortgage in Indiana. We are not only working to lower foreclosure problems but also to create more jobs for our Hoosier workers." The Indiana Credit Union League is the trade association representing Indiana credit unions. Ninety percent of the state's credit unions belong to the League. Credit Unions from around the state gather each year for the Legislative Affairs Forum. Rep.
