Rep. Neese:"I cannot vote for a joint resolution without first knowing the full fiscal impact. The sponsor of SJR 1 was unable to answer the most basic questions on how this would affect the amount of relief that homeowners receive or the amount of revenue that schools and local governments will be able to work with. I am hopeful that during conference committee process, the resolution will return to its previous form of capping property taxes to 1-percent of the assessed value of a home." SB 345 Rep. Neese: "It is important that Indiana find a workable solution to the problem of undocumented immigrants. The federal government has not done its job, and it is left up to the Legislature to craft laws that properly address the issue. As the legislation moves forward, I would like to see it focus on undocumented immigrants from coming to Indiana." |
