Rep. Neese to Give Recycling Talk at Nature Center

STATEHOUSE - State Rep. Tim Neese will be part of Woodlawn Nature Center's informative "Going Green" series.  Rep. Neese (R-Elkhart) will give a presentation on recycling opportunities in Elkhart County at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the center, 604 Woodlawn Ave., Elkhart.

"It's important to remember that a better environmental mindset doesn't begin with laws," said Rep. Neese.  "It begins with average citizens who take small steps in their daily lives."

Earlier this year, Rep. Neese was appointed to the Recycling Market Development Board.  The board provides the Indiana General Assembly with information on energy development and recycling alternatives and programs for Indiana.

Rep. Neese also serves on the Environmental Affairs Committee for the House of Representatives.  In addition, he is the director of the solid waste management district of Elkhart County.

On Saturday, Rep. Neese will discuss various recycling opportunities available to Elkhart area residents and answer questions about recycling.  The presentation concludes Woodlawn Nature Center's "Going Green" series, which included talks on sustainable housing, water conservation and alternate fuel.

The nature center features American Indian artifacts, mastodon fossils, century-old nests and eggs and wildlife dioramas.
